May I ask how you get the details so crisp in your work?

I always try to start off with a very clean line work. I have started using bristol board lately and I'm finding that it makes the line-art drawing process easier. For this piece I did the line-art with a line pencil rather than an ink pen. Then I just toyed with it in photoshop.
